Dearest Valentine (Zimmerman 2018) has cerise rose pink blooms with a light pink watermark, cream/gold edge, and yellow to green throat. A dormant tet, this cultivar blooms ML on 25 inch scapes. A terrific rebloomer, some fans have three cycles of bloom. Bud count is 16 (range of 13-19) on three way branching. In my climate the bright blooms always open well. Dearest Valentine is a reluctant, but not impossible, pod parent. The pollen is potent and is producing some pretty babies. (Shores of Time x Rosy Rhino)
Gypsy Cats is named after a family of feral cats (mother and kittens) that I adopted many years ago. A dormant tet, this cultivar has blooms of 7-8 inches on 29-inch scapes with three- to five-way branching. Bud counts range from 12-29. Gypsy Cats blooms midseason. The flower is a reddish purple with a blue purple watermark and a white edge showing some teeth and claws. The throat is green. A fast multiplier, Gypsy Cats is pod and pollen fertile. I didn't think it was a rebloomer, but last season several fans did rebloom. (Trimmer seedling "Laughing Hyena" x Back Scratcher)
(Zimmerman 2014) This diploid midseason bloomer sports Sangria red blooms with a darker black red chevron and a yellow to green throat. There are white darts in the chevron, enhancing the look of the flowers. The 6.5 inch blooms are carried on strong 44 inch scapes with 3-4 way branching. I registered this daylily as having 18 buds, but in years with lots on Spring rain it has gotten from 30-36 buds. It shows UF cascading traits in hot temperatures, but not all of the time. The foliage habit is semi-evergreen. Pod and pollen fertile. (Black Plush x Starman's Quest)
